Mr Dirk I hate to be the prophet of doom but I’m starting to notice what caused the astronomically high snow totals ( two to four kilometers) in the upper latitudes of the northern hemisphere during the great ice age. Cosmic rays are the go to suspect but there is a hole in that theory. If cosmic rays cause more water or moisture formation, more cloud formation and more snow fall, that would start cycling down the temperature. For that to sustain itself the replenishment cycle would have to be equally as robust. If it isn’t then the snow fall slows down and the cooling slows down. Atmospheric moisture is not likely to increase as the atmosphere becomes more frigid. Lake effect snow or in the Pacific North West like in northern Japan, ocean effect snow with a super long fetch is the most likely answer. How long does that last and how deep does it get? The answer is how long does the mini ice age last? This explains the lower sea levels during the great ice age also. Will this phenomenon transfer heat from the earth to the atmosphere and then the background temperature of space? I think it will most definitely contribute to lowering the earths temperature.

The cold that China is experiencing is going to eventually reach us in a week or so. My fruit trees are thinking about blooming, but the pending cold could ruin the crop.
